ABOUT

A stuck of books about museum studies

Museums for People is a project designed to disseminate museum and visitor studies. Launched in 2019, it brings together illustrations, reading tips, and resources for dialoguing with experts, nonprofessionals, and museum lovers.

BEHIND THE PROJECT

I am a freelance museum professional and a practice-led researcher based in Milan (Italy) with a background in museum visitor studies and different experiences in UK and the US.

I work as a project manager and lecturer and museum accessibility and interpretation are my main fields of work. Through my job, I have learned that the most effective way to facilitate learning is to articulate complex ideas in a simple language and different formats. Museums for People was born with the same idea: sharing with everyone key concepts from museum studies, using illustration and an easy-to-read style, while this website offers opportunities to deepen contents.

My name is Maria Chiara Ciaccheri and I wrote the book "Museum Accessibility by Design. A Systemic Approach to Organizational Change" for Rowman & Littlefield (American Alliance of Museum serie).
